A classic portrait shot. A very popular type of photo for social media posts. I generally prefer taking photographs with more nature in view. But I do see the appeal of this type of shot as well, especially for social media content.

This was a very mellow time in the evening at Point Reyes Station, just as golden hour was finishing. There wasn't much activity during this time which made me scramble to try and take good photographs. I only had a few days at this location so not getting any photographs during this evening would have been frustrating for me.  Since I don't take photographs during harsh sunny days, I rely on golden hour for photo sessions. I'm happy with the few photographs I did get during this evening, however, because I do feel like the mellow mood can be felt.

This is such a small hummingbird. Out of the smallest hummingbirds that I've seen, the Wire Crested Thorntail is probably the fanciest.

I never saw hummingbirds stab through flowers like they do in Ecuador. I guess most of the flowers we have in the US are not as hard to eat out of like some of their flowers. 

By the way, this is a female White Bellied Woodstar which is why it may look different than some other Woodstars you may have seen on my website.

This Buff Tailed Coronet decided to just pierce the red bulb of this flower in search of nectar.

A while ago I posted another photograph of this same Blue Heron where it was flying right in front of me. It was standing on this rock preening itself for a little while prior to that. Its thin feathers became sprawled out as it combed them with its beak.
