I enjoy all wildlife. Even small little Ants. The life that this little Ant is living is much different than yours and mine, but I think they are equally of value.

The Tule Elk of Point Reyes Station were generally in herds, so I wanted to share a photograph that captured how their community groups together.

This was a very mellow time in the evening at Point Reyes Station, just as golden hour was finishing. There wasn't much activity during this time which made me scramble to try and take good photographs. I only had a few days at this location so not getting any photographs during this evening would have been frustrating for me.  Since I don't take photographs during harsh sunny days, I rely on golden hour for photo sessions. I'm happy with the few photographs I did get during this evening, however, because I do feel like the mellow mood can be felt.

I think I've mentioned this before, but sometimes when taking action shots I don't actually know what the end results are going to look like. Take Douglas Squirrel 15 for example. In this photograph it looks like this Douglas' Squirrel is doing a super hero pose. If you don't know what that is, type in "super hero pose" into your favorite search engine. It basically looks similar to this Squirrel, as if it came in for a cool landing.

In reality, this Douglas' Squirrel was scratching itself with it's hind leg.  That's what it was doing when I was taking a burst of photographs.  It wasn't until I reviewed the images that I noticed this cool pose.

Not sure why some people are grossed out by critters like this. They are so cool.
