A portrait of an Andean Guan. This shoot was early in the morning and it was fairly cold. So cold that as the Guan was vocalizing I could see its breath in the air. Unfortunately it did not come through in the photographs. Next time I'll try to remember to take video.

This is a juvenile Gray Breasted Mountain Toucan. While flying and action shots are fun to photograph, I also like compositions such as this one with the blurred foliage in the foreground and a nice portrait along with other interesting objects such as the yellow flowers in this photograph.

A pretty good portrait of a Red Tailed Squirrel in Ecuador but my favorite feature is the little blue beetle. Do you see it?

These Carunculated Caracara were all over the Páramo region of Ecuador just running around while presumably looking for stuff to eat. This photograph is a good representation of that.

This is a female Torrent Duck. Quite the difference in feather coloring from the male.

Way in the distance you can see a Torrent Duck. This is a male. They are very elusive. Their specialty is diving down into rapids and collecting small insects to eat. But if they see you, they might dive down and swim away.
