I unfortunately startled this Mule Deer after tripping on a rock. Fortunately it wasn’t bothered too much. Also, you can see a lot of tiny Flies hovering around it.

This photo was taken at the very early hours when the sun was just peaking over the horizon. This Blue Heron found a piece of debris to hunker down on in the middle of this lake and the sun was barely able to hit it. The background was in complete shadow which is why it’s so dark. The Blue Heron was a long distance away so this was the best I could get without a boat.

See, I love all wildlife, even insects. They are also very interesting to look at and can make for an interesting subject in a photograph. And how cool is the name Flame Skimmer. This was taken at Ewing Reservoir in Hayfork, CA.

This was during Sunset at a local preserve. The California Quail was in the shade but the tree behind was glowing due to being backlit by the setting Sun. I really enjoy this photograph.

What a name. I can’t confirm if it is accurate, though, as I did not smell it. I’ll try to remember to do that next time I see these mushrooms.
