I've said this before, but I'll say it again for new visitors: I generally don't prefer to post photographs that include man-made objects, like buildings. However, this is another exception, and I have a few reasons. For one, I like this photograph because the composition is cool, the lighting is very nice, and the Goose looks cool. I've also not posted a photograph of a Canada Goose yet and thought it was time as they are a prevalent and recognizable bird. Also, this building is gorgeous and interesting, so there's no reason not to share this photograph simply due to the building.
This building is also special. It's owned by the McConnell Foundation. They are a nonprofit that's dedicated to improving the surrounding community. Part of that effort is by providing an array of walking trails on property they own. The area is very large, so some of it, including where this building is located, is private property. The surrounding area is very natural with a couple of water features. The place is huge, and the trails can take you to a lot of different-looking areas which have different ecosystems and wild animals. Which is, of course, why I was photographing on this trail to begin with. To get shots like this Canada Goose.
The photograph that you see is a standard 3:2 crop but I actually prefer this more widescreen.
